Growing up as a dancer, dancing has allowed me to do and become many things. I have become aware of my body-its strengths and weaknesses; I have transformed into different characters ranging from a mole tapping in a tailcoat to a seductress in a bustier and heels. But most importantly, it has given me the power to both free and harness my energy and emotions while forgetting the world around me. Nothing else in my life gave me that feeling until I took my first pole class.
My first time pole dancing was a game changer. It gave me the same feelings I have towards dancing in regards to what I feel it allows me to do and become, except it took these feelings to the next level. When you're on the pole you have the opportunity to stop thinking about whatever chaos or list of "To-Do"s that may have occupied your mind. You can focus on your mind and body, and the pole. You will find yourself becoming stronger and more flexible, holding poses, spinning, climbing, inverting... defying what you thought you couldn't do and defying gravity. You CAN fly.
